DESPITE the developmental challenges, the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has emerged a strong and virile professional body.

The President of the Institute, Mr. Adeyemo Adejumo, welcoming guests during the Institute's Golden Jubilee anniversary luncheon in Lagos recently, said that with successes recorded in virtually all departments of its corporate endeavours, the institute had every reason to celebrate its achievements especially the growth in membership and the recognition granted the institute by virtue of the Charter in 1993.

He said: "Permit me to reiterate that the governing council is rededicating itself to the continued actualisation f all the goals and objectives of the Institute, in the firm belief that a lot more could still be achieved."

"NO doubt, the stakes are becoming higher, especially with the enormity of challenges facing the insurance and financial services industry today. These challenges obviate the need for greater efforts in the area of human capital development, requiring skills recreation and the redefinition of expertise through sustained insurance education. The Institute is key in these pursuits and will not rest on its oars in ensuring that the insurance workforce continue to receive the best learning experiences in the dynamic business environment today."

He assured that the Institute's professional examinations will continue to reflect the developments in the business and practice of insurance through regular and sustained syllabus review. This is the only way we can make our qualifiers relevant in the scheme of things and ensure that they perform as global professionals.
